PRINCE2™ is a process-based approach for project management providing an easily tailored and scaleable method for the management of all types of projects.
A PRINCE2 project management structure is based on a Customer/Supplier environment where the customer will specify their needs and the supplier will provide the skill and resource to provide the solution.
The customer and supplier may be part of the same corporate body or may be independent of one another.
A project needs to have a different organisational structure from line management as it needs to be more flexible and is likely to require a broad base of skills for a short period of time.
The project organisation may combine people who work full or part time on the project.

Some of the PRINCE2 roles cannot be shared or delegated. The Project Manager role cannot be shared or the decision making roles and responsibilities of the Project Board or Project Manager.
The Project Board is responsible for any publicity and dissemination of information about the project to the outside world.
