PRINCE2™ is a process-based approach for project management providing an easily tailored and scaleable method for the management of all types of projects.
Quality Management is the process of ensuring that the quality expected by the customer is achieved.
Quality in a PRINCE2 project starts with the Customer Quality Expectations and Acceptance Criteria being defined at Start Up.
During Initiating a Project, the Quality Plan is produced and a Quality Log created. These outline the Quality Control and Quality Assurance methods and procedures that will be used for the duration of the project.
For each stage of the project, a Stage Quality Plan is produced and the Quality Log will have entries for planned dates for each product being produced. Product descriptions produced during Planning will also contain Quality criteria information.
During Controlling Stage, the Project Manager authorises the Work Package and hands it to a Team Manager who will Accept the Work Package. The Work Package contains the Product Description and details on quality criteria that need to be met.
